Welcome To HEG’s Inner Circle eNews
A Bi-Weekly Recap of Essential Reading For The Private School Sector
| | |
Welcome to the 199th edition of HEG’s Inner Circle Private School eNews, where Halladay Education Group shares key insights into the latest investment activity shaping the global private education sector.
HEG MARKET INTELLIGENCE
Watch where the money went this month, and you'll notice it kept landing in the same place: schools that train people for jobs that someone has to fill.
Nursing and allied health drew most of it. Westcliff University acquired Pacific College, a 33-year-old California nursing school. Risepoint bought Keypath's North American business for its clinical placement network, which is the bottleneck to scaling any health program. Even Anna Maria College's bankruptcy ended with its nursing program going to Assumption for $1.1 million.
The group builders kept moving. Dukes opened in Germany; AcadeMedia crossed 100 units in the Netherlands; and Global University Systems agreed to absorb Lincoln Bishop University.
Then there's LaSalle College, in creditor protection, owing over $48 million to Quebec for over-enrolling English-language stu.dents. We've watched compliance quietly become a pricing issue.
Owners: buyers are paying for durable demand and a clean regulatory file. Buyers: more of the risk now lies in the enrolment rules than in the P&L.
