Halladay Education Group (HEG), a leading M&A advisory firm specializing exclusively in the sale of private schools and education businesses across North America, is pleased to announce the successful acquisition of The Center for Autism and Dyslexia (CFAD) by Catapult Learning, Inc. HEG acted as the exclusive advisor to CFAD’s ownership throughout the transaction.

🏫 About the Acquisition

Effective June 29, 2016, Catapult Learning acquired The Center for Autism and Dyslexia, an Ohio-based specialized education provider with campuses in Findlay and Lima. The schools serve approximately 140 students diagnosed with autism, dyslexia, and other special learning needs, and are known for their tailored, evidence-based academic and therapeutic programs.

Founded in 2006 by Susan Pneuman, Ph.D., a licensed psychologist and nationally recognized expert in autism spectrum disorders, CFAD has earned a strong reputation in the region for its student-centred approach and family advocacy. Dr. Pneuman will join Catapult Learning as Director of Autism Services, bringing deep expertise to the company’s expanding special education division.

🤝 Strategic Fit With Catapult Learning

This transaction marks Catapult Learning’s first Ohio-based autism program and its second special education acquisition in three months. CFAD joins Catapult Learning’s Schools Division, which includes programs serving students with:

  • Autism spectrum disorders

  • Learning and emotional disabilities

  • Behavioural and at-risk challenges

  • Dropout prevention and transitional education needs

“We are excited to welcome the students, staff, and families of the Center for Autism and Dyslexia to the Catapult Learning family,” said Andrea Vargas, President of Catapult Learning’s Schools Division.
“This acquisition represents a merger of two mission-driven organizations. Our schools will benefit significantly from Dr. Pneuman’s experience as we strengthen and scale our autism programming nationwide.”

All CFAD faculty and staff will remain in place, joining Catapult’s national network of more than 5,000 educators serving students across the United States.
