Welcome To HEG’s Inner Circle eNews
A Bi-Weekly Recap of Essential Reading For The Private School Sector
| | |
Welcome to the 200th edition of HEG’s Inner Circle Private School eNews, where Halladay Education Group shares key insights into the latest investment activity shaping the global private education sector.
HEG MARKET INTELLIGENCE
This is the 200th edition of the Inner Circle, and the fortnight it covers is a fair snapshot of the market. Groups moved into new countries on two continents. A language school operator with 25 campuses closed all of them after it could not raise the money to continue.
Both are the same story. There is capital in this sector, but it is pointed at fewer people.
What active buyers want is a platform. They are entering markets where they already know the management, paying for it in part by selling campuses that no longer fit. More of the price is going behind post-closing earnings targets rather than onto the table at signing.
Owners should take the structure point seriously. The gap between headline price and what reaches your account is decided long before the LOI, by the quality of your reporting and whether the school holds together without you.
Buyers still have room in turnarounds. The underpriced risk is time. One approval in this cycle ran past two years.
At Halladay Education Group, we follow this across private schools, career colleges, language schools, and education platforms.
If a sale or an acquisition is on your mind, write to info@HalladayEducationGroup.com and we will arrange a confidential 30-minute call. Featured opportunities follow in this edition.
